    Gumshoe Rail

This rail design was talked about a few months back, there was some interest at the time so I went ahead and did the prototypes to test the programming.

Engraving shown would NOT be standard but an add-on.
Rails are ULE milled with foregrip slots.
Automag rails would have a duel slot for use with both AGD style VASA's.
RTP full length slot for 2 screw VASA.
    Both rails match factory lengths.
    Milled for all body styles.
    RTP is 1.00" wide.
    AM rail is 0.98"
Both rails can be pump milled.
Rails are machined from 6061 billet.

There's not a 'bump out' around the sear on the RTP, you can grind a little off the sear tip and it will sit in the frame like shown in the picture.

PT's are available, I have 1 AM and 1 RTP, not pump milled.

So the RTP style will accomodate frames with 'wings'?

No, the little angle you see on the RTP is just cosmetic, you would need the AM version...

Would you ever do a run of RTP rails that have wings? Is that design type even possible?

Why not just mill the wings off the top of your grip frame to work with the flat bottom of the RTP rail?

Yes, that is a option. I would rather not do that though.

The wings would cut through the threads on the sear hole...

I suspected something like that. Thanks for the info.

Great looking rails. I really like!

Why do you not want to machine the frame?

Sorry for the bad picture, but my camera is giving me some trouble, anyway here's a new engraving design. The final design has been tweaked a tad.

So the new camera came in, starting to figure it out. Here's a few more pictures.

AM and RTP version of AO Army engraving.

Not sure if anyone has noticed but the Automags.org letter font actually matches the forum lettering. The letter font has been huge conundrum and sought after for many years, as far as I know it has never been duplicated until now. I used the same font for the AO Army lettering.

The Mag-Pie lettering is custom but was meant to mimic the Automag logo, not sure who designed the original, but I have always like it. I just wanted to do something in the spirit of that instead of a copy.

The rest should be a little more obvious...

I will be getting one of these when the money's in... but could you do the "AO Army" and the "automags.org" text and leave out the magpie?

I can probably be persuaded to do that.

Was anyone interested in these engraved rails?
I would like to do a quick run, no pre-orders, slugs are made, no minimums.
I can do AO Army and Automags.org too as indicated above.

Kind of off topic but Luke, do you make an RT Style rail that uses AM/MM sears? I like longer rails with no wings but don't like the asymmetry of the sear pin hole. Do you offer anything like that? More specifically, would a Beta rail be possible in this configuration?

I made a bunch of the 9.1" Automag slug rails, offered them and there was no interest. I actually machined a prototype of the long Beta rail like you're asking about and there was zero interest. I did finally sell the prototype a few months back.

I had a bunch of the long AM slug rails but since there was no interest I actually ended up cutting them all down to standard length and used them in the Armada project we did a while back. I probably wont waste anymore machine time or materials on the longer rails, that one bit me in the butt.
