So. I have not played serious paintball for almost 13 years. I promised myself that one day I would play again, when I could afford it without thinking twice - and not have to choose between baked beans or a box of paint. That time has come.
You will see from my sig that I joined in 2003, but have not posted here. However the forum has been good to me and I have found lots of interesting and entertaining reads. Back then, I was playing for John Sosta's factory team (Delorentis), and ran a fully tricked Emag, silver to blue dust, fade ano'd, Warped and tuned. That marker was, well, basically what a ferrari or porsche would be to me today. Good times those.
Last week, I dug my Alien ano'd Armson body out, with RT classic valve (Minimag valve retired) and my stealth Armson 15 inch barrel. I bought a 3000 psi bottle and a dive tank. I dug out my V force goggles and my old Egg loader. After gassing up she started to leak from the front half of the valve and I troubleshooted with your help - reg valve assembly O rings had perished. With a little TLC and some replacement parts she is singing now. First game this Saturday. I really cannot wait.
But now for the serious stuff. I would like a new mech marker in the next few months (I want to just make sure I still have the minerals to play for a whole day without keeling over).
I see ol' Tunaman seems to be the go to - but some advice and chatter about what would suit me best would be helpful. I won't be playing tourney anymore, but I played front/mid and like a fast, light marker for a combination of woods and rec ball. Fields will include bush and forest, but I would definitely still rip up a urban/speedball/inflatables every chance I get. After all, that is where I cut my teeth with the little Italian calling the shots (Sosta, up a tower with a loud hailer telling us to imagine our shape was a hot babe and to get in as close as possible !).
So guys- help a fella out and put me back on the right track. What should I be considering for my next rig?
Thanks! Good to be back
Oh. Err. I live in South Africa now. Just a little longball (curve ball?) for ya
