Easy to install once you get the power tube off. The tricky part is breaking the locktite (for xvalve) or cutting the laser (for classic valves)

You just need heat to break the locktite right? Another question about the insert... Does it change the tuning of the X-valve? In other words, can you drop it into a tuned X-valve and have the X-valve operate as normal or should I expect to re-tune the valve after installing it?

Save your money. The gains are minimal to the costs of modding the valve and getting the inserts. You can get better results if you match paint with the barrel bore. With an Xvalve, it is a waste & a classic, you can reg it down to about 650psi or so and see improvements, IMO.

If you are using CO2, they can be very effective. The pressure will be higher and bolt force is higher, so it's best to setup a devolumized mag for a particular gas and barrel, and take care of your foamy if you have one.
