    Evo Body back from anno

Evo body just got back from anno. I was planning something a little nicer than just 'dust black', however, to my horror there was an additional $100 charge to remove the tooling marks. Mario from FX Anno handled it for me and I must say it (and the couple of other parts I sent) came out spectacularly.

    He did mine gloss.

    The tooling marks were terrible.

Guess mine paved the way for the price.

He already knew how much time was involved.

Yours looks great, I'd say it's more a satin than dust.

Probably be cheaper just to tighten up the finish passes.

I don't play paintball in August down here because it's too hot.

You are old enough to make up your own mind, you need no help from any one.

If it is too much for you then so be it.

Ugh.. I HAD TO DO THIS TO THE ZLOCK "AREA" (IT'S NOT A GROOVE) TO MAKE THE VALVES FIT RIGHT. I WANT TO SMASH SOMEONE IN THE FACE WITH AN AX RIGHT NOW.

Dammitman! I probably would have opted to grind the pin off.

Oh I read it again ef that. Is that a machining issue or ..... can you explain the issue for the people not in the know.?

Im not grinding anything off of a Dust Black Tuna Emax valve. None of my valves fit.. I was hoping this was a fluke or something.

Well, somebody do tell. Looks like the z lock step was missed in the machining process?

As for grinding off valve pins, goodness, no. They are removable.

    Z. Locks are barbed. They don't come out

  27. #27
    Ah.

Did not know that. The old roll pins in the classics come out and go back very easily. Figured the newer style did the same, but in a different way.

Was it lacking a channel or was the alignment off?

It's hard to tell in the picture if there's room, but another option would have been just to machine a new groove. (Or fix it, whatever the case.)

A few minutes on a mill and you can clean that up, then do a black oxide touch-up to hide the raw aluminum. >> https://www.birchwoodcasey.com/Refin...-Touch-Up.aspx

Here is a picture of mine. I didn't have any trouble with mine, but it appears you didn't even have a channel to begin with.
