    Advantages of a Pump

What are the advantages of a pump gun or a conversion kit for a mag. Im not talking about playing but technicaly.

You look like a pimp taking down 20bps guns with one shot. Other than that i don't believe there is a single technical advantage, it is all about strategy and how you play. oh yeah, and pump mags rock.

Not neccasarily technical advantage but maybe a gain to accuracy or anything like that.

        None.

        Disadvantages
        You shoots slower.
You technically may lose accuracy while trying to fire fast due to the pump motion.

i think its more accurate because you take your time and aim, knowing if you miss......

no its more accurate cuz it loads each ball perfectly and is shot with pretty much no bolt hitting the ball...mostly air....i think

Geekwarrior hit the nail on the head. Pump players generally aim because they only have one or two shots to get the elimination, something semi players don't usually do. The same can be done with a semi if you can control the trigger and aim.

Plain pump with a co2 or n2 tank, no advantages. Going the stock class route with 12 grams and 10-15paintballs, huge weight and mobility advantages.

chefstevie, geekwarrior is right. Besides a pump mag is still open bolt, so it still has the same effect on your paintball as a semi mag.

well my cockers with pneus arent nearly as accurate(single shot very slow) as my pump...single shot again...very slow, but thats just my experience

the advantages of playing pump is that it is just all around better.

unless you are like all the little kiddies that think you need to spray 15 bps.

my friend who plays with an ego just found out that i bought a phantom. and he got pissed because he thinks i wasted my money. he obviously doesn't know the fun in pump play, and also doesn't think that $200 for a red VSC phantom, 45 grip, 2 sets houge grips, guaged, bobbed, spare o-rings, detent set, spare macro, velocity adjuster, and an extra clear horizontal feed is a good deal. the gun almost looks mint. anybody who has tried shopping for a phantom can vouch that thats a good deal.
                        upgrade fund: $145

Your opinions are incorrect in the factual world. Physics proves that no matter what type of gun a paintball is shot from it will have the same accuracy as long as it is the same paint and barrel. The only other factors are consistency and the weather around you. This is the last place you want to argue that. Using the same barrel and paint my DM4 will be just as accurate as your pump. You just think you're more accurate because you're taking your time.

Nobody said cheaper paint and air! A day out with my semi is easily a case paint sometimes another half (or more!). A day out with my pump is a bag of 500 at most!

I also find that most pumpers out there have a different level of sportsmanship. It's more about having fun instead of destroying your opponents. To me, this is a HUGE advantage!

Not that destroying your opponents at 20 bps isn't fun
