So are the bare boards themselves scrap since they need a different SMT padstack? Or is the 1206 padstack missing altogether?

The stack is missing all together.
It's resistor 18,... And it currently only has 17
I don't have photoshop on my desktop,... But I'm certain a very small copper trace from Vdd to Gnd is missing as well.
Annnnndddd,.... The jumper for the power needs to be moved up to make room

Gotchya; all makes sense now!
While I'd be okay with an axial leaded resistor soldered onto the board, there is no question that spinning new boards is the better option from a business standpoint.
damn man sorry to hear of this mess up.
hope it works out and things go well.
im still here no hurry for me.
me to
I'm still here Flag
Don't give up !!
UPDATE
Nothing to report right now. Only that the board house called me today to say that we all are in agreement on the new design layout to solve the missing resistor (i sent in files, they verified the list of parts reflected the BOM (bill of materials) for said project.
And,.... Im not giving up :-)
We will see this through......
Updates like this are much better than no update at all. Thanks for the update.
UPDATE
Just got off the phone with the tech building our boards.
Boards went on the machine at 530pm EST. My phone says 605pm right now.
There will be a small delay due to the new to create a file called a "CPL" which tells the assembly machine where to put the parts on the board given an X and Y axis.
That's gonna add 5 days I believe.
Good news is we are back on track.
Outstanding!
Eh.... Not in my book.
Looking at the dates.... Were waaay behind :-(
UPDATE
Sent the board house a request for photos of the fabrication and assembly process,... so you could see what they look like as they go though the plant.
UPDATE
NO word back on the pictures yet,.... boards are still in que being made.
UPDATE on first post in thread to reflect "goin5150" as now a buyer and deposit made
UPDATE
board house just called me.
They wanted some more information on the pictures I asked for.
The QC department has passed the request as "okay" to allow a camera in the lab when they build the boards on the cut line.
Waiting to hear about the assembly process okay....
The guy on the phone was rather curious as to why I asked for them.... At the end of the phone call... He though it was pretty neat and has never had a request for photos come across his department (QC)
Outstanding! Thanks for these updates, Jai.
Sweet! Thanks for the pics and update!
THAT is insanly cool. I have never connected circuit boards and CAD software before
OOOoOOOO I see mine :P
oh I dont doubt it
Normally they do not allow photo graphs of the process for protection of their methods and other customer products.
So after the photos are taken, they are passed off to a QC department over in PR (I think) and they edit the photos and send them to me.
Video was out of the question in this stage. I am not sure if they will do it for the assembly process..... But it would be cool to see.
They are sending more photos of the masking and layout next week after QC edits the photos.
Sorry there is no more news than a few photos.....
don't be sorry there arnt many photos... I work for one of these companies. I know how it goes
UPDATE for the BUYER Pre-Pay List
Added flampaint to spot #28 for payment made on 1/24/2014
will these turn on and off by a uv flashlight? oh that would be cool
any news, I may need more boards not sure yet till I get my stuff sold.
UPDATE
Its 10:49 here in NH,.... day 4 of snow plowing,.... Im waiting to get my phone changed over before I take a picture of the back deck,.. but there is an easy 24" of snow on it,... i have yet to shovel it this winter.
Not much to report,... i know things are moving,.. thats about it.
Ive been stressed out over these a bit,.. trying to get them out and done.
Ive had a few medical issues,... one I have an appointment for tomorrow,... gonna take some of my skin from my left arm pit (hopefully not!) (but i know you all wanted to KNOW that :-)
Stress, lack of sleep, working stupid hours,.... spending time with my daughter,... busy winter! So much for enjoying it,......
I hope to have some pictures of the assembly process in the future,..... keep track of this thread guys!
hey man,
slow it down some if you can try to relax if you can,
hope the medical stuff isn't serious.
don't worry about the boards too, much we all know you are working to get this done,
thankyou so much for the update and wish you the best of luck with all the stow, and med issues.
we are here if you need help.
UPDATE
Been going back and forth with our assembler (her name is Lacey) for the last few days.
She has been running connectivity tests between layers of components being applied to the board.
She did run into 3 errors,.. so I have been correcting them the last 2 days: one was a typo on the BOM that was sent in and what the Gerber file said. Quick fix.....
The others were admin issues,.. and in 3 hours we fixed it.
I put in the request (again) for pictures,.. they (hopefully) will comply.
