New Side Mounted Hopper Solution From Nied Tech (Creator of XMOD)

I'm looking to design a Side (Left) mount for a hopper such as a Halo that would not include a warp feed. I think we're to a point where a halo could be side mounted and still has enough power to push balls up to the gun with little problem. My Idea is to build a bracket that will mount the hopper to the left of the gun and then feed balls under the gun, up and in from the right side.

Let me know if you're interested in the project and I'll put you on a list to contact when I have them ready for sale.

Right now I'm looking to buy several Warp Right Breaches for my XMAGs. I'd prefer Black second choice is Raw but let me know what color(s) you have.

I pay $$$ name your price!

Great idea. How will it mount to the marker?

Aluminum plate mounted to the bottom of the grip... I know it shounds kinda bulky but I made a custom one to mount a qloader and once people see it they admit that it looks and feels great. I also use an NW Paintball Products Quick Disconnect Block. This ensures that the bracket comes off easy and that the gun fits in my bag nice.

Sounds like a sweet idea. I'm not sure if I'd buy one, but I'd still like to see how this would be done.

Sounds like a great idea for a Q-user who wants a backup. The only thing I'm worried about is the speed that it can feed. And indirectly (or directly, I guess), the in-hopper chops (hose puts more friction on the halo, slows it down, you crank up the speed to compensate, puts too much stress on paintballs at the top of the stack, blending ensues)

Do you have any drawings? just enough to convey the idea...

something similar was released about 1 month ago. It is a Ben Tippman product. It is basicly a cyclone feed that instead of air, it used Halo internals to feed the gun. It is a true side feed, just like the cyclone, but with a halo drive cone that pushed the balls horizontal. I would link to one but I am at work..sorry. just google it!

Not exactly what you described, but souds like it might help with a prototype...

I am wondering the same thing. I sorta see how it would mount, but am wondering if you(paul) can get it far enough back so it doesnt mess up holding the front batt pack(on e/xmags).

Dont forget to make the braket moveable to the right side of the gun for us left handed shooters!

I too am having a hard time visualizing this setup though.

Actually, I've had an idea brewing for a few years about a side mount/ power-feed hopper that would mount on the left or right side. It would feed through a side mount breech similar to a warp left/ right ULE body. the only thing thats stopped me is I have no idea who to take this to. Its fairly simple in concept/ execution, and i'm kinda surprised I've never seen anything even remotely like it come up. I aslo have no design software experience so theres no good way to draw it other than by hand.

we should chat... can you email me some sketches/pictures or something... ([email protected]) I have the design experience... I work as a consultant/technical support for SolidWorks... I do have one additional requirement to my concept that it have some sort of quick disconnect so that it can be easily cleaned and then fit into a normal gunbag/case unlike a warp feed where once it's on the gun there's nothing that it fits in. nicely.

Paul I didnt get the pictures you wanted of my setup at Tunaball,.. someone must have a better angle than the one I have.

I can whip up something in paint on what I did,... pretty simple. You could use that.
