It's called "LiteStep". It's a shell for windows that keeps the same windows OS, but basically it's an overhaul on looks. A great website for more info is http://www.litestep.net but it almost never works Other than that I would suggest doing a search on yahoo for more info.

LiteStep absolutely owns Explorer. 'Nuff said.

The only problem is Explorer is install and go. LiteStep can be a little more un-friendly because its all open-source, and you end up coding a lot of your own desktop. I'd only reccomend it for people who are relatively sure they know what they are doing and who are willing to invest the time into setting it up properly. I used to run it on my old computer, and it ran excellently, and if you set it up right, no one else but you will have a clue how to use your computer . I'm just too lazy to set it up on my current computer.

But yeah, if you are so inclined, absolutely go for it. It improves Windows, its free, and uh, well, what other reasons do you need? Oh, it looks a lot prettier, as you can tell.

And then you can say "Bye bye" to Explorer.exe and its damn crashes.

I really didn't have any major problems with LightStep. Just make sure that you read the manual perfectly and it shouldn't be a hassle. Drop me an e-mail if you need any help.

For my desktop, i used a combination of HoverDesk, Windows Blinds, and Icon Packager. As for the skins, you can get em from Here, Here, or Here.

As for the shell replacement - the only reason i didnt use it was because if something goes wrong - its a pain to change back, with my progs all i do is take em away from startup. The downfall of my way is u have to have a pretty good system cuz it sucks up all the system resources otherwise - Enjoi.

I think imma give LiteStep a try - with previous shells ive had no luck, but this one sounds way better, thx for the nfo ppl.
