Is it possible to do say an acid wash anno but not in a polished finish? Or is it just more of a solid color thing to do matte type finish?

They can do it any way you want.
Have you found someone to use for ano? I currently have parts with Caustic Customs, has proven to me they can do anything.
Check out Arnolds Metal finishing in CA
Mario FX Anodizing.
Granted this was a few years back and I did not work with Arnold directly because I think he only does the large accounts, I used them twice. Both times it was for parts with a dust black finish. The first time they did not put anything in the three barrel tips I had and they blasted the bores of the tips. I also had custom grip panels engraved by you that appeared one side was over polished and the depth of the engraving on one panel was not as deep as the other. I only used them a second time because I wanted the finish to match the previous batch. I was quoted one price which changed after I sent in the parts. They also accidentally overnighted the parts back to me then proceeded to call me and ask me to pay the difference. So yeah, not going back. I’ve been going to Caustic ever since.
caustic, blizzard, arc, fx, aesthetic are all solid options. I am sure i could think of more.
So the dying process isn’t dependent on the finish is what I am understanding. Ok, thank you

If I may add a somewhat related question to this thread, is it possible to polish up a matte piece to gloss WITHOUT having to send it back out to ano? I have a matte barrel tip that would match much better if it were gloss.
